Last summer, I moved into a new home (zone 7b) and figured I would educate myself on how to garden. Up until then, I would describe myself as having a black thumb (though I did manage to keep this temperamental plant happy and healthy).
Step one in my garden journey was to harvest the garlic that the previous owner had planted into our two raised beds. I ordered a gazillion dollars worth of these, listened to this, watched her, did this and prayed a lot. I also made sure my tubers were planted in full sun and, once they came up, I watered at the root, not the leaves. More prayer and…success!
I am going to illustrate a post about how I cared for my dahlias. In the meantime, here are two wee sketches on gardening. Download them and may your garden grow lovely this season.
